Job Opening for Support Software Engineer

Workforce Software is adding multiple positions, including several Support Software Engineers.

**Applicants must live in the Detroit Metro area. Remote candidates will not be considered**

Job Functions:

  • 2nd level of support for customer issues: debug, provide immediate work-arounds to customers and make corrections to the product
  • Hands on development, testing, and deploying of the software

Mandatory Skills:

  • Some hands-on experience directly in Java programming, either school or work experience.
  • Familiar with SQL, AWT/Swing, application servers, servlets, EJB, JSP, and HTML.
  • Strong fundamentals of computer science, including knowledge of advanced data structures, algorithms, and multi-threading
  • Experience in both Windows and Unix environments deploying Java based systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Four-year or advanced degree in a technical field

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in developing large-scale applications
  • Knowledge of Tomcat application server
  • Knowledge of Struts and/or Velocity Apache projects
  • Experience in designing for and testing under large data volumes and stress conditions
